Criminal law

Assistance and defence in criminal proceedings, from the investigation stage through trial and enforcement of sentences — for those under investigation or charged, and for victims of crime.

What we handle

  • Defence of suspects and defendants at every stage: preliminary investigations, preliminary hearing, trial and appeals.
  • Assistance to victims: filing criminal complaints, joining proceedings as a civil party and claiming compensation.
  • Gender-based and domestic violence: domestic abuse, stalking, sexual violence, unlawful sharing of sexually explicit images or videos, with the protections and protective measures of the so-called “Codice Rosso”.
  • Other offences against the person (assault, threats, defamation).
  • Property offences (theft, fraud, embezzlement, criminal damage).
  • Road traffic offences: drink or drug driving, injuries and death caused by dangerous driving.
  • Alternative procedures and probation: plea bargaining, summary trial, settlement by payment and suspension of proceedings with probation.

How we work

Timing matters in criminal cases. If you have received a notice of investigation, a criminal conviction decree, a summons or a request to appear, contact the firm as soon as possible: some steps must be taken within short deadlines.

In cases of gender-based and domestic violence, victims can be assisted from the initial report and in requesting protective measures. In immediate danger call 112; the anti-violence helpline 1522 is free and available 24/7.

For proceedings involving minors see Juvenile law; for the stage after sentencing see Sentence enforcement and prison law.
